Personal information: What does it mean ?

Inovestor’s registration process requires that you provide information such as your name, complete mailing address, your e-mail address, a user name and a password in order to access additional information, tools and features that we offer. Other information may also include your age and income group as well as your gender.

This information is what is known as your Personal Information.

Why Inovestor needs Personal Information ?

Inovestor requires Personal Information in order to know you and to serve you better. When you register to Inovestor, you have access to various tools such as the Mini Portfolio, the Portfolio, Real-time Quotes for both Canadian and U.S. markets, personalized alerts and preferences, as well as other features that enhance your experience on Inovestor. Your Personal Information simply allow our systems to remember your preferences.

Who can have access to your personal information ?

Only those employees of Inovestor duly authorized by our internal security policy may have access to Personal Information of clients.

Inovestor will not disclose, sell or transmit to a third party, personal information collected through his site, without prior authorization, except as required by law.

Inovestor however reserves the right to compile and use this information on an aggregate basis for advertising purposes. The aggregate information is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.

How Inovestor will keep your personal information ?

Inovestor stores your personal information in a physically and virtually secure environment. The Database is protected by three layers of firewalls, thus preventing unauthorized access to sensitive data. At location, the Database is located in a locked computer room and the database servers are password protected in NTSF format.

Can you change or delete your personal information from our database ?

Any amendment to your personal information can be performed online via the Account section of the Website.

To close your account, send us your request via e-mail at with your Username. We will send you an e-mail to confirm your request by replying to us with your Password.

Any accounts unused for a period of 2 years will be permanently deleted from our database.


A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personal information while on our site. The friend may contact Inovestor at to request the removal of this information from our database.

We may also send the user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account mostly via e-mail.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it.
